DUBLIN (Reuters) - Airlines cancelled 102 flights in and out of Dublin airport on Sunday due to a storm that was forecast to rage for the rest of the day, the airport operator said. Storm Isha had also forced 24 aborted landings by 1700 GMT, while 27 flights opted to divert to other airports, Dublin Airport said in a post on social media platform X.Ireland's national meteorological service Met Eireann issued an orange weather warning early on Sunday for most of the country, including Dublin, meaning the winds could significantly impact people, property and activity in an area. Parts of the west and northwest were placed under a more severe red warning. Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport cancelled 130 flights scheduled for Monday as a preventive measure because of strong winds expected when Storm Isha reaches the Netherlands, the airport said on Sunday. BEIJING (Reuters) - A landslide in a city in the northeast of China's Yunnan province has left at least 47 people unaccounted for and rescue operations were currently underway, Chinese state media said on Monday. At about 5:51 a.m. (2151 GMT), a landslide hit the city of Zhaotong and local government officials launched a disaster relief emergency response, the People's Daily reported. It's not clear what caused the landslide. Yunnan, in southwest China, is among several provinces in the country's southern region currently experiencing a cold wave and bitter temperatures near or below freezing, according to the National Meteorological Centre. China's weather authority warned of a drastic drop in temperature in coming days, along with blizzards, anticipated to substantially affect several cities, state media reported. CNN —More than 2,000 people in Libya are feared dead in severe flooding, according to a Libyan leader, as Storm Daniel swept through the eastern part of the country. Hamad called on medical personnel and medical assistants to go to the badly affected city of Derna in eastern Libya to provide assistance immediately. The storm brought catastrophic flooding to Greece last week before moving into the Mediterranean and developed into a tropical-like cyclone known as a medicane. CNN —Over 12,000 people have been forced to flee their homes in Tenerife after wildfires tore through the Spanish Canary Island. Police data showed the the number of evacuations surged from the 4,500 reported on Friday. While worsening weather conditions that would “complicate firefighting operations” had initially been expected overnight Sunday, the night had been “quiet, with more favorable weather conditions than expected,” local government said. An image of a French news report about hot weather in Corsica is being falsely touted online as evidence of the media exaggerating high temperatures in France. The image is a cropped still from a broadcast weather report on CNEWS, a French-language news channel. “Same temperature manipulation in France relating to Corsica,” said one social media user sharing the image on messaging platform X, formerly known as Twitter. Reuters traced the image to a weather report broadcast on CNEWS on July 18 (here). The visuals were filmed on July 17 and were used to illustrate a broadcast on July 18 about temperatures forecast for later that day.

☆ Northern China faces Doksuri floods as south mops up from storm

China's National Meteorological Center kept its red alert, the country's highest, for rainstorms on Sunday, state media Xinhua reported. Doksuri, one of the strongest storms to hit China in years, had prompted thousands to evacuate in southern province Fujian and ripping coastal areas and pushing north and inland. Although the authorities downgraded the storm from typhoon on Sunday, the China Meteorological Bureau maintained a red alert for heavy rain in various provinces, especially northern areas such as Hebei, Beijing, Shanxi and Henan. The capital was likely to receive record rainfall, while cities in Hebei province, which encircles Beijing, were waterlogged, local media reported. In Hebei, 209 weather stations recorded extremely heavy rainfall and 1,283 heavy rainfall，local TV reported.
